Is the Marist DPT program CAPTE-accredited?
Yes. The Marist DPT program is accredited by CAPTE — the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. CAPTE accreditation is the standard required for PT licensure in every U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Marist received its 5-year accreditation in November 2020. Graduates are eligible to sit for the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) and pursue licensure in any state.
98% ultimate pass rate on the National Physical Therapy Exam. The inaugural class achieved a 100% pass rate. Marist's program is specifically designed to prepare graduates for the NPTE — the curriculum covers the full range of examination domains and the clinical experience from 300+ rotation sites reinforces exam preparation. Note: acceptance into and completion of the program does not guarantee licensure; students must still pass the NPTE and meet state requirements.

How do clinical rotations work — and can I really train internationally?
Marist DPT students complete four full-time clinical rotations totaling 36 weeks. The program has 300+ established clinical sites throughout the US covering inpatient, outpatient, acute care, rehabilitation, and specialty settings. For the final 10-week clinical rotation, students have the opportunity to complete an international placement — past placements have been in Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and England. International rotations are available to qualifying students; speak with admissions about eligibility.
Is there financial aid available? What's the Merit Scholarship?
Yes. Effective for the entering class of January 2026, eligible students receive a Merit Scholarship of up to $10,500 per year — $31,500 total over the three-year program. Federal financial aid applies through FAFSA. Additional aid may be available through Student Financial Services. Speak with admissions about your specific scholarship and aid eligibility ahead of your application.
Is this program available online or in a hybrid format?
No. The Marist DPT program follows an onsite educational model. Physical therapy training requires direct hands-on clinical practice — cadaver-based anatomy, simulation labs, supervised clinical rotations — that cannot be delivered remotely. The program is full-time on-campus in Poughkeepsie, NY, beginning each January. If you're looking for an online option, the Marist DPT is not the right fit; if you want the clinical depth that in-person training provides, it is.
