All students in Marist’s Social Work graduate degree program receive training to work with individuals, families, groups, and communities while providing services to those impacted by trauma. Through the practicum office, students secure placements in their local communities, gaining real-world experience. Practicum internship settings may include:
Students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a GPA of 3.0 are eligible for the advanced standing program. This program can be completed in one year.

Two-Year Degree
The 100% online Social Work graduate degree curriculum prepares students for careers in trauma-informed practice and examines the effects of trauma using new evidence-based methods. You’ll learn how trauma shapes individual lives, build a strong foundation in trauma neuroscience, and study ethical, effective work with child, adolescent, and adult survivors of maltreatment. Courses address interpersonal and manmade trauma, chronic stress, and other complex issues, equipping future practitioners in MSW degree pathways to provide compassionate, effective care while promoting anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
